grant writer

Grants on a Mission is always looking for superb grant writers who want to use their talents to help nonprofits develop sustainable fundraising strategies. 

As a grant writer, your core responsibilities will be: 

  • Designing original grant proposals for clients
  • Conducting client calls
  • Managing the grant proposal design process 
  • Revising grant proposals, incorporating edits, and turning around revised drafts in a timely manner 

About You: 

  • Strong writing and editing skills (writing sample required) 
  • Minimum of 2 years of grant proposal writing experience 
  • Excellent communicator, a multi-tasker who can handle quick turnaround and hard deadlines 
  •  Proactive self-starter capable of working independently
  •  Willingness and desire to learn 
  • (Ideal) Located in Washington DC (strong remote candidates will be considered)
  • Bachelor's degree required

Position Details:

This is a part-time, independent contractor position. At the conclusion of the assigned projects, there will be the option to extend if mutually desired. 

Grant writers will be paid hourly a competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience. Remote candidates are encouraged to apply. This position reports to the Founder/CEO.

Business Development manager

The Business Development Manager will be a vital member of the Grants on a Mission team. If you are a people person who wants to help us connect with nonprofits who need to develop sustainable fundraising strategies, we want to talk to you! 

As the Business Development Manager, your role will be:  

  •  Maintaining a running list of prospective clients 
  • Managing our client pipeline and keeping our CRM up-to-date 
  • Onboarding new clients and managing pre-and-post project communication with clients
  • Developing new client relationships by attending in-person events, reaching out to prospective clients, and ensuring prompt follow-up to all business inquiries 
  • Some external communications and social media management 

About You: 

  • You are a closer. You help people see the value in what we're offering and you can skillfully communicate value in a variety of media 
  • Superb writing and editing skills
  • Proactive self-starter capable of working independently
  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience in client relations, customer service, or business development 
  • Experience managing a CRM (Salesforce or Insightly preferred) 
  • Must be located in Washington DC
  • Bachelors degree required
